SARAJEVO, May 10 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić, on the occasion of the Day of Victory over Fascism, also the Day of Europe and the Day of Golden Lilies, congratulated all free citizens of Europe, anti-fascists and carriers of the Golden Lily medal.
"As a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state based on the principles of anti-fascism and a state that in its recent past faced fascism, I am proud of our past, because at least two generations of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, defending our homeland, also defended fundamental values of the civilized world. Anti-fascism is one of the fundamental values of civilization," Komšić pointed out in his congratulatory message.
He points out that Bosnians and Herzegovinians have always known the difference between good and evil, humanity and inhumanity, to oppose genocidal and fascist projects before declarations and conventions on genocide and its prevention were adopted in the world, and Komšić congratulates them on that.
"Both the national liberation struggle and the defense-liberation struggle represent the historical continuity of the defense of the fundamental values of civilization. There is no difference between European anti-fascist values and those values that describe Bosnia and Herzegovina as the homeland of all its citizens, regardless of anyone's ethnic, religious or any other identity. That is why today we can proudly say that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not only a part of Europe, but that antifascist Europe epitomizes everything that the idea of a free state of Bosnia and Herzegovina truly is" said Komšić.
