SARAJEVO, May 4 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić and EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues Miroslav Lajčak talked on the phone today.
They discussed the current situation regarding the COVID-19 virus pandemic and the assistance the European Union intends to send to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was particularly discussed.
The officials also discussed the continuation of the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina in such a way that all 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion on the application of Bosnia and Herzegovina for membership in the European Union should be implemented, which is the basis for obtaining candidate status.
BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić informed EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčak that all 14 priorities of the European Commission's Opinion are acceptable to him, as necessary reforms can be carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which would make our country a credible applicant for candidate status and launching negotiations for EU membership within the negotiating chapters in force.
In this regard, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina also reached the appropriate conclusions that, as a body which, on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina, applied for membership of the European Union, and a little later, submitted its replies to the questionnaire of the European Commission, within its constitutional competences, it would be the coordinator of all activities to implement 14 key priorities from the European Commission's Opinion, the BiH Presidency announced.
