Pilav: Testing increased by ten percent in Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, April 30 (FENA) - In the past 24 hours in the Sarajevo Canton, 110 people were tested for coronavirus, and three were positive, said the Chief of the Crisis Staff of the SC Ministry of Health, Dr. Aida Pilav.

At a regular press conference of the government and the Civil Protection Crisis Staff of the SC, Pilav announced that seven persons with mild coronavirus symptoms have been hospitalized at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), without the necessity to be placed on a ventilator. 

"Two people have recovered from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and we had no deceased patients. Between January 30 and April 30, a total of 3,830 tests were performed in the SC, 144 were positive, 51 people recovered and six died of the coronavirus infection," said Pilav.

She added that in the period from April 15 and 30, 349 persons have been placed in isolation.

She said the number of tests in the SC has increased by ten percent in the past month, and that the epidemiological situation is satisfactory at the moment, but reminds that caution is needed during May Day holidays so that the situation does not worsen.
