Čerkez: In the last 24 hrs, 27 persons tested positive for coronavirus in FBiH

SARAJEVO, April 30 (FENA) - Member of the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister for Public Health, Goran Čerkez reported today that 27 persons have been tested positive for coronavirus in the Federation of BiH in the last 24 hours, and that the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton still has the largest number of infected.

Forty-six patients have been hospitalized, four of them are on a ventilator. Of the 33 deaths, 19 were men and 14 were women.

Čerkez asked the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to abide by the prescribed rules ahead of the May Day holidays.

The new order, which applies for May 1, 2 and 3, prohibits the gathering of more than five people at one place. In the first three days of May, in the Federation of BiH, movement outside is prohibited from 22.00 hrs. to 05.00 hrs. 

Speaking about the testing, he emphasized that the Federation of BiH has done an adequate number of tests, stating that so far 17,295 people have been tested.

"Since the beginning of the pandemic, testing has been carried out according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization. A wider scale testing is being carried out now, compared to the previous period," added Čerkez at a press conference at the FBiH Government.
