SARAJEVO, April 29 (FENA) – A member of the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health and Assistant Minister for Public Health Goran Čerkez said that the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health, given the newly emerged epidemiological situation in the FBiH, held a meeting this morning and prepared a set of measures for May Day holidays.

“The pandemic is not over yet. We have been warning citizens to this for some time now. The proposal of the Crisis Staff is to prohibit the movement of persons older than 65 and under 18 years of age on May 1, May 2 and May 3, and to prohibit movement after 8.00 pm in these days. Looking at the events of the past weekends, we think it would be very difficult to control the gatherings, because certainly a large number of people would leave their homes and this could negatively affect the epidemiological situation. We think it's an unnecessary risk,” Čerkez explained.

He expects that a decision, for wholesale and retail trade to start working, will be made in mid-next week.

“We want life to go back through those stores. It is necessary to establish controlled flows of life. We expect that measures to ban the movement of people over 65 and under 18 will also be lifted, but much will depend on citizens and their respect or disregard for measures to combat the pandemic,” Čerkez said at a press conference of FBiH institutions today.

He also stated that a platform for self-assessment of the health status of citizens has been established on the website of the FBiH Institute of Public Health.

“The goal of the platform is to educate the population on recognizing the symptoms of coronavirus, and there are also actions that should be taken in case of symptoms,” Čerkez added.
