BANJA LUKA, April 29 (FENA) - A total of 677 samples were tested at the Institute of Public Health and the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska (RS) in the past 24 hours and 59 people have been confirmed positive for coronavirus in the RS and one person from Brčko who is being treated at the Banja Luka hospital.
Minister of Health and Social Welfare Alen Šeranić stressed this morning that this is more unfavorable situation compared to earlier days when it comes to the number of infected people and that the discipline has loosened.
“This is just over eight percent, compared to the previous period when there were mostly five percent of people who are positive in relation to the total number of tested samples, which indicates a certain indulgence of individuals in behavior during the coronavirus pandemic,” warned Šeranić.
He said that individuals and the entire community are behaving more relaxed than in the previous period, which is not good.
Total number of infected in that BiH entity has now been increased to 767, with 30 deaths.
“When it comes to new cases, 32 are men and 28 are women,” said Šeranić, specifying that three doctors of medicine and one nurse from Banja Luka hospital are also infected.
"Out of the total number of infected, 34 could not indicate a contact with a positive person, two had traveled, while the others had close or family contact with someone who was previously positive," RS Health Minister said.
Three patients are on a ventilator at UKC Banja Luka.
To date, 12.081 laboratory tests for coronavirus have been conducted in RS.
