SARAJEVO, April 28 (FENA) - This is a great moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina as we continue our path towards the European Union. By adopting today's conclusions, we have created a new chance for the continuation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's EU integration process, so that 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion can be implemented more quickly and efficiently through the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated today the BiH Presidency member Željko Komšić after the meeting with to the Quint ambassadors.
"In this way, we have created a space to carry out a continuous evaluation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's progress in implementing 14 priorities from the European Commission's Opinion. This is also a very important message that we want to send during the EU Summit in Zagreb next week, in order to show our country's true commitment to continuing our European path.
Following the adoption of the Reform Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina in November last year, which paved the way for NATO integration, this document creates clear assumptions for the continuation on the path of European integration.
Most importantly, it will be done through the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that the position and the opposition will take part in this, because the path to EU membership cannot be the exclusivity of only one political group, but of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., all political parties elected by the citizens," Komšić underlined, stated the BiH Presidency.
Komšić believes that there enough room in the coming years to implement these 14 measures from the Opinion of the European Commission so that BiH can enter the next phase of obtaining a candidate status for EU membership.
He expresses his gratitude to the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to all of the Quint ambassadors for their support in the adoption of these important documents.
