SARAJEVO, April 24 (FENA) - The "Academy for Women" Foundation, with the support of the Austrian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is establishing an e-Counseling Center with psychotherapy services that will offer free professional assistance to women victims of violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina starting in early May.
According to official statistics, as many as 52.8 percent of women in Bosnia and Herzegovina experience some form of violence by the age of fifteen. Due to limited freedom of movement and measures of (self)isolation, many women are exposed to violence, and for most of them, their own home is not the safest place to be.
Sessions within the e-Counseling Center of the Academy for Women will be done via video calls due to the conditions of restricted freedom of movement and (self)isolation.
Applications can be submitted as of May 1, by filling in the application form, which will be published soon at www.afw.ba.
The project of the e-Counseling Center is funded by the Austrian Embassy in Sarajevo.
"Bosnia and Herzegovina is an important partner for Austria and therefore we are trying to provide support in different ways, including this project, which seeks to help women who are especially suffering from the consequences of this crisis," said the Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ulrike Hartmann.
