BRČKO, April 21 (FENA) - About 4.5 tons of protective equipment, worth about 380,000 KM, was delivered to the Brčko District on Tuesday to be used in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Mayor of Brčko District and Commander of the Crisis Staff for Protection and Rescue Siniša Milić said that thee shipment contains 300,000 protective masks, 300,000 gloves and 2,000 protective suits and that another shipment is expected next week, which will contain 10,000 medical masks, 10,000 protective suits and 3,000 pieces of protective eyewear.
"This is the equipment that our healthcare professionals need to do their work to protect citizens in accordance with the standards but also to protect themselves, first and foremost. With this contingent, we will have enough protective equipment and can state that our healthcare services are equipped and able to fight the coronavirus. In the coming days, we can expect that the situation in the District, after the Government's decision to declare the state of general emergency on March 11, slowly go back to normal, "said Milić.
After receiving the donation, the Mayor of the Brčko District also handed a thank-you note to He Haibin, a representative of the Association for the Promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina-China Peace and Unity for their contribution to the fight against the coronavirus.
