SARAJEVO, April 20 (FENA) - Chair of the Crisis Staff of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Health, Dr. Aida Pilav said today at a regular press conference of the SC government and the Civil Protection Service of the SC, that 58 persons were tested in the last 24 hours in the Sarajevo Canton, four were positive, three of whom were retested.
According to her, the number of hospitalized patients is 14 in total, and one person who has been on a ventilator has passed away, meaning that there was one death in the last 24 hours.
Responding to journalist inquiries regarding the announcement of the start of a more comprehensive citizen testing in the canton, she explained that the scope of testing would continue to be done according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
"Persons with symptoms will continue to be tested as a priority. In the first place are fellow citizens who have been exposed and in more frequent contact with the sick. These are primarily healthcare workers, then people working in nursing homes and other social care institutions, people from public services, as is the case in the region," said Pilav, adding that this is also a recommendation of the World Health Organization.
When asked if the staff of the Gerontology Center of the Sarajevo Canton are being tested, Pilav reminded that one resident of the center tested positive and that she was transferred to the General Hospital today.
When asked about quarantined BiH citizens that arrived from Sweden, Pilav called on citizens to show more understanding.
"These measures have been issued by the FBiH Ministry of Health and we do not need to debate about them," Pilav said.
