Zvizdić: Dodik's statement an institutional hate speech and anti-state action

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 19 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and SDA Vice President Denis Zvizdić said that, at the time of the biggest global and domestic health and economic challenge caused by the coronavirus, in the last hundred years, the political scene in BiH instead of an increased level of community and solidarity, is plagued by targeted attempts to permanently block, challenge and minimize the constitutional competencies of the state.

In an interview with Klix.ba, Zvizdić stated that we are witnessing a perfidious intention to "problematize" the functionality of state authorities and the effectiveness of their role in curbing the spread of coronavirus, protecting and strengthening public health and preventing and remedying economic consequences, when all this passes.

"It is a very dangerous project, which is being conducted under the radar in times of crisis, headed again, according to his latest statements, by BiH Presidency member, Mr. Milorad Dodik, whose aim is to challenge BiH's state capacities, strengthen ethnocentric and separatist ideas that are provoking justifiable fear in all citizens who love BiH and he is again sowing this tragicomic illusion that the entity of RS is in fact, a state" said Zvizdić.

Dodik's statement that 'BiH has proved redundant in this crisis and that its future is questionable after the end of the pandemic', is an institutional hate speech and a continuation of anti-state and secessionist actions based on the morally and politically failed "greater state" and hegemonic project of the 1990s.

"Perhaps, for the current political and safety situation, the most important fact is that such anti-Bosnian activity is at the core of the project of euthanizing state institutions, which, in the midst of a crisis, are denied the right to work and act precisely by those who criticize the state, who should be the drivers and creators of all activities at the state level," Zvizdić emphasized.

Therefore, at this time, more than ever, Zvizdić concluded, we must reject the anti-civilization and fascist mottos that we, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot live together, we have to raise awareness of BiH as an indivisible state and social being, and further strengthen our firm commitment to full membership in EU and NATO.
