SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - Secretary of the FBiH Ministry of Health, Snježana Bodnaruk, reminded at a press conference of FBiH institutions that a quarantine measure has been introduced across the Federation on March 26.
She explained that the decision stipulated that all persons entering Bosnia and Herzegovina should be quarantined.
"At the proposal of the Government of the Federation of BiH, a quarantine has been set in all the cantons. All persons entering BiH stay in tents at border crossings.
FBiH health inspectors at the border take data from these individuals and submit it to the FBiH Ministry of Health and a quarantine decision is then issued.
The decision determines the quarantine to 28 days and this is in accordance with the law. However, a recommendation from the World Health Organization arrived recommending that the quarantine be reduced to 14 days, which includes the mandatory submission of epidemiological records and the results of testing," explained Bodnaruk.
In Sarajevo, quarantine procedures were shortened for people who came from Italy so that they have already been sent to home isolation.
"Other cantons should act on the same principle. Yesterday, we also informed the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina about this, as well as the problems we are facing," said Bodnaruk.
