GORAŽDE, April 17 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and President of the SDA BiH, Bakir Izetbegović, FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, Ministers for Displaced Persons and Refugees Edin Ramić, Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić, as well as SDA Vice President and MP in the BiH Parliament Safet Softić today visited the Bosnian Podrinje Canton - Goražde (BPC).
At the meeting with BPC Prime Minister Aida Obuća, they discussed ways to financially support the canton.
Izetbegović said that he believed that Prime Minister Novalić would find a solution to assist the BPC and the Posavina Canton in particular, as underdeveloped cantons.
"I believe that Mr. Novalić will find a solution to maybe double the amount for these two smaller cantons. It is very important to preserve investments at this time as well. I am particularly pleased to see that the investment that will connect Sarajevo and Goražde has continued. Today we visit businesses, farmers, the government, the hospital because it is important for us to see how people are coping with the coronavirus pandemic in Goražde and to see what they need and to push it through the budget," he said.
Prime Minister Novalić said assistance to this canton was unquestionable especially after the FBiH budget was revised, and instead of the earlier 21 million KM, a grant of 200 million KM for transfers to lower levels of government has been secured.
"If we were to go with a coefficient of 2 with multiplication in the distribution of public revenues for which opinion is already prevalent, in that sense, BPC Goražde would receive between 4 and 4,5 million KM, which is more than 2,9 million that we had envisaged earlier," explained Novalić.
BPC Goražde Finance Minister Mirsad Agović believes that this amount is quite welcome in the current situation, but that the arrangement is worse because it is a debt, whose repayment will be sought in the budgets of years to come.
Afterward, Izetbegović, accompanied by his hosts and ministers in the FBiH Government, visited the Goražde Cantonal Hospital, and then the entire delegation visited the companies in the Vitkovići industrial zone.
