SARAJEVO, April 15 (FENA) - The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić visited the Municipality of Konjic today.

Novalić and Džindić laid flowers at the memorial to fallen soldiers of the Army of BiH, and then visited the isolation ward of the Konjic hospital.

Novalić said he was most interested in how Konjic managed to maintain the number of only 28 infected patients, although this city had one of the more dynamic focal points of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We saw that everything was done very professionally. For the tenth day in a row, Konjic has no newly infected persons and it would be good for others to draw lessons from this town. The 'Igman' plant and other factories have already started operating, which is certainly a sign of recovery," said Novalić.

Prime Minister Novalić and Minister Džindić then held a meeting in tje Konjic Municipality with local business people, who were informed about the new program for mitigating the effects of coronavirus pandemic, and also visited the Konjic Fire Brigade. Novalić especially wanted to greet 14-year-old Ali Sarajlić, who became famous after taking part in the extinguishing of recent fires in the municipality.

Novalić stresses that Konjic is regularly exposed to wildfires due to difficult, mountainous terrain. For this reason, it will probably be necessary to increase the number of firefighters in Konjic, as there are only 15 of them employed at the moment.

"The first thing on our wishlist are two planes, then fifteen to twenty firefighting vehicles. Many thought that the first thing we wanted to do would be to buy ventilators because of coronavirus, but we already did it and we now believe, because of the arrival of warm weather and increased temperatures, the danger of forest fires is even more evident," said the Prime Minister.

Minister Džindić spoke about the meeting with representatives of local businesses in Konjic Municipality, where they discussed ways to overcome this difficult moment caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

They were presented with the measures prepared by the Government of the FBiH through the so-called Covid-19 Law and other activities.

At the end of his visit, Prime Minister Novalić also visited one of the sites where a forest fire burned in recent days.
