SARAJEVO, April 7 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA), Dragan Čović, had separate phone conversations with French Ambassador to BiH Guillaume Rousson and Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to BiH Reinout Caspar Vos.
Čović and Ambassador Rousson discussed the current situation in both countries. Particular emphasis was placed on the topic of health care of citizens, as well as the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. In addition to assistance to the health system, the interlocutors also commented on concrete measures to help the economy, as well as stabilize economic opportunities.
Speaker Čović thanked Ambassador Rousson for the assistance France is providing to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU and NATO integration process.
Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA and Ambassador Casper Vos exchanged information and views on the health condition caused by the coronavirus pandemic. They emphasized the importance of adhering to all public protection measures adopted, while respecting the recommendations of doctors, epidemiologists and all health care institutions.
The two officials also discussed the Netherlands' liberal approach to fighting coronavirus. Ambassador Caspar Vos said that this approach seeks to disrupt social and economic life to a minimum.
Commenting on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Speaker Čović emphasized that BiH's European path has no alternative, adding that the Netherlands can assist BiH in reform processes, as well as in the process of assuming EU membership commitments, the PR Office of the BiH PA announced.
