SARAJEVO, April 7 (FENA) - Head of the Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in BiH Victor Olsavszky said at today's press conference of representatives of the FBiH institutions that the global situation with the coronavirus pandemic is slightly better.

“When we talk about the global level, the situation is slightly better. There is hope. When we look at Italy and Spain we see a downward trend in newcomers, so I think we are on the right track,” said Olsavszky.

He pointed out that the WHO in the Federation of BiH has noted a trend of increasing capacity for coronavirus testing.

“This will help decision-makers to better manage the crisis and align the growth curve of patients with coronavirus so that they do not have a sudden increase in the number of patients. The basic goal is to avoid the rapid growth of number of patients, because then they would suddenly occupy all the available capacities in hospitals,” he emphasized.

He added that the World Health Day is marked today, which this time is dedicated to all healthcare professionals who are on the front line of the fight against coronavirus.
