MOSTAR, April 3 (FENA) - In the last 24 hours in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC), 16 new people were tested positive for the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, ten in Čitluk, four in Jablanica and two in Mostar.
So far, 83 Covid-19 positive persons have been registered in this canton, and two persons have passed away. Čitluk, with 29 confirmed cases, is now the most vulnerable municipality in the HNC.
“We have directed our capacities towards Čitluk and we are trying to establish a situation there like the one in Konjic, where in the last few days we have no new cases or one or two new cases,” said the director of the Public Health Institute of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and a member of the HNC Crisis Staff Dr. Nermin Avdić.
Dr. Avdić said the situation in Konjic and Mostar is under control, while in Jablanica all the infected came from the same family whose member had returned from Germany.
Head of the Department of Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care at SKB Mostar Dr. Zoran Karlović referred to the health status of hospitalized patients with covid-19.
Twenty-nine patients have been treated so far and their average age is 50 years. Fifteen of them were sent home, while four died (two from the HNC, two from the West Herzegovina Canton). The average age of the deceased was 62 years.
Asked by a journalist to comment on the announced restart of production at the Igman factory in Konjic, he said that "if a business entity can organize work without violating orders and recommendations of the Crisis Staff, we have nothing against. "
