A nurse from UCC is among the 24 newly infected persons in RS

BANJA LUKA, April 2 (FENA) - In Republika Srpska (RS), the number of new coronavirus confirmed cases is 24, and the total number infected in that BiH entity has increased to 267, said Alen Šeranić, RS Minister of Health.

In the last 24 hours, 194 tests were performed at the Institute for Microbiology of the University Clinical Center (UCC) of the Republika Srpska and the Institute of Public Health of the Republika Srpska.

These are 10 women and 14 men.

“Ten infected persons are hospitalized and the rest are isolated and depending on their medical condition they will be referred for further treatment,” Šeranić said at a press conference.

He specified that 10 people were infected from the so-called family contacts, while others have been in contact with work colleagues who are positive for Covid -19, and one part of them cannot state how they got infected.

“Among the infected is one nurse from the UCC, but all her contacts, colleagues and patients have been tested and all have a negative finding on the coronavirus,” the Minister said.

Currently, there are six coronavirus patients in RS that need respirators.

A total of 2,077 people have been tested so far, and the number recovered from the new coronavirus in RS is 14.

So far, four people have died in the RS from the effects of Covid-19.
