MOSTAR, April 2 (FENA) - Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović had a telephone meeting with President of the European People's Party (EPP) Donald Tusk yesterday.
The two officials exchanged information on various measures introduced across Europe to successfully overcome the coronavirus crisis, with special reference to restrictive and incentive measures introduced in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the HDZ BiH stated.
They also commented on the health and economy capacities in BiH, noting that the primary goals are to protect health and safety and economic stability of residents and businesses across the country.
Furthermore, they discussed an initiative addressed to EU leaders, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Parliament President David Sassoli. The initiative seeks to exempt Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkan countries from EU decision banning the export of medical protection equipment to combat coronavirus.
Speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, Dragan Čović, on behalf of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on his own behalf, expressed particular gratitude to EPP President Donald Tusk for the European Union's medical and financial support for BiH's health and socio-economic recovery, it is said in a statement.
