SARAJEVO, March 30 (FENA) - FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić says any dispute between employers' associations and trade unions is unnecessary and unacceptable at this time.
“I appeal and require all parties to show prudence. This is not the moment to put forward any threats or ultimatums. The government is not on the side of either the union or the employers, nor are we against any of them. The government is on the side of citizens and workers who expect economic solutions from us, not quarrels, which are useless in such moments,” Novalić told FENA.
He welcomes the involvement of numerous representatives of social life in proposing measures. All rational proposals, coming these days from parliamentary groups, employers, trade unions, experts, non-governmental sector and others, will be seriously considered.
“We can not accept all the suggestions, but we will certainly use the best ones. The government will not make hasty or populist moves. Nothing should be done by heart. There is no room for experimentation. The way we act in the next three to four months will depend on what the economic fate of this country will be in the next three to four years, or even more,” said Novalić.
That is why the Government, he stresses, will carefully analyze everything.
“We will measure three times, because we can only cut once. The measures that we will take will not be the result of any pressure or hasty moves, but the result of exact analysis and professional approach. Citizens know that this Government has enabled the greatest economic and job growth since the war. Some have tried unsuccessfully to question it, but the facts and figures do not benefit them. The power of this government is not in rhetoric, but in the economy. Citizens know that when it comes to the economy, there is no better address than this convocation of the Government,” concluded Prime Minister Novalić.
