BANJA LUKA, March 16 (FENA) - The entity of Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović announced today that a state of emergency is to be declared in that BiH entity over the coronavirus pandemic.

After the government declares a state of emergency, a crisis staff will be set up, which, she said, will take appropriate measures. At the moment, 20 people have been tested postitive to coronavirus infection in the RS. The entity government, for now, has introduced a measure of "emergency situation".

Following a meeting attended by the entity officials, Cvijanović said that a session of the RS National Assembly would be held to declare a state of emergency, which would entail a new regime for the functioning of the institutions and the entire society to deal with the situation arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

"As of this morning, a new regime is in place at the BiH border crossings and decisions on home isolation for persons entering BiH are being issued until the quarantine mode is introduced," she said at a news conference in Banja Luka.

Cvijanović says they had to resort to these measures because of the lack of discipline that some citizens have shown.
