Višković: We will also provide more facilities in case of coronavirus escalation

BANJA LUKA, March 16 (FENA) – Institutions in the Republika Srpska are doing their best to provide, in addition to existing medical institutions, backup facilities in case of coronavirus escalation, of which 20 people are currently infected in the territory.

RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković told reporters today that certain facilities must be prepared in order to readily anticipate a possible "shock wave, which is expected within the next 14-15 days according to medical experts".

He announced daily meetings of those responsible to take the necessary measures and prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Višković emphasized that the situation is being monitored, and pointed out that the self-responsibility of RS citizens is the most important, because that is the only way they can protect themselves from the virus.

He also confirmed that he had spoken with certain mayors and municipality mayors in that BiH entity so that, for the sake of prevention, the entire RS would be covered by measures already taken by Banja Luka, which has so far 16 confirmed coronavirus patients.

To prevent further spread of coronavirus, the Banja Luka Crisis Staff issued an order on March 15 to close down all catering facilities and shops in the city, with the exception of grocery and consumer goods shops, within the next seven days. In addition, all facilities where service activities and crafts are provided are closed too, except for taxi services.

The entity Prime Minister announced that the payment of pensions in RS will be regular, as will the payment of other obligations from the entity budget.
