BANJA LUKA, March 15 (FENA) - The entity of RS President Željka Cvijanović announced on Saturday that in the coming days, they will demand the establishment of organized quarantine sites near BiH border crossings, where citizens from abroad will stay for 14 days, with the aim of preventing the spread of coronavirus.

After meeting with representatives of the entity institutions and RS representatives in the BiH institutions and members of the Coordination Team to plan, implement and monitor activities related to the occurrence of coronavirus infection, Cvijanović stated that the new measure would be coordinated with colleagues in the Federation of BiH and at the state level.

She believes that this would introduce more order because "we cannot rely on the conscience of citizens since the measures that have been enforced have been violated."

"Only an iron-strong discipline is needed in this situation," the entity president said, adding that additional measures could be expected to prevent coronavirus infection.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that as of Monday, March 16, "the military will start constructing tent settlements in which citizens entering BiH will stay for 14 days."

"Many of our people are working in the West and the countries where they work pressure them, for their own problems, and are asking them to return to their countries. We have to welcome them readily, and the only way to do this is to create adequate inpatient premises for them to stay in for 14 days. They can then return home or to the country they came from after that period expires," he said.

He pointed out that "the BiH Presidency would approve the construction of the tents, and the Council of Ministers, through the Ministry of Defense, would engage the armed forces to build the tents."

"The role of the armed forces will be to set up and maintain these tents, and the health ministry will be in charge of its team," Dodik added, saying that "part of the cost of staying in the quarantine near the border would be paid by the citizens themselves."

He urged citizens to take the coronavirus situation seriously.

RS Minister of Health Alen Šeranić said he would request the BiH authorities to reduce the number of border crossings and issue health inspector orders at the borders, in terms of isolation of incoming travelers.
