SARAJEVO, March 10 (FENA) - The project "Creating a More Favorable Environment for Civil Society - EMBRACE" has been formalized in Sarajevo at the United Nations building.

A total of 23 non-governmental organizations from 14 local communities, selected for the funding, will work to provide different services to residents of their communities.

Representatives of the selected organizations today received certificates at the United Nations building in Sarajevo.

Chargé d'Affaires at the Norwegian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina Siri Andersen told reporters that her country wants to help, not only large, but also small non-governmental organizations, or project initiatives that will improve the lives of the people concerned.

Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina Steliana Nedera said that a large number of NGOs expressed interest in participating in the program, that its focus was on youth, and that the implementers favored organizations that designed projects for their local communities.

“The focus is on innovative ways to solve problems in local communities,” said Nedera, adding that she is proud of UNDP's cooperation with Norway on this project.

Saida Sarić, director of the NGO ‘Women for Women International’from Sarajevo, said that the project submitted by this organization will be for the association of women from the municipality of Zavidovići.
