Fazlić: Hate speech in BiH Armed Forces has to be sanctioned severely

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 8 (FENA) - A deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and BiH and a member of the Joint Defense and Security Committee, Amir Fazlić, responded to a video posted online of persons in uniforms of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina singing offensive and chauvinistic songs.

"It is utterly unacceptable for members of the Armed Forces of BiH to sing chauvinistic songs that offend an entire nation and late President of BiH, Alija Izetbegović. I request the competent authorities in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces to investigate this case as a matter of urgency. If they prove to be truly members of the Armed Forces, they must be severely sanctioned. There should be no place in the BiH Armed Forces for chauvinists and hate-mongers," Fazlić said.

He added that it was worrying that these types of incidents have repeated in the BiH Armed Forces, and urged the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces to systematically address the issue.
