Minister Mitrović and Austrian Ambassador discuss enhancement of cooperation

SARAJEVO, March 4 (FENA) – BiH Minister of Communications and Transport Vojin Mitrović received Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ulrike Hartmann today and discussed possibilities for improving good bilateral relations, especially in the area of international transport of passengers and goods, the BiH Ministry of Communications and Transport announced.

They also discussed existing bilateral agreements signed more than two decades ago and the need to revise and amend them. Minister Mitrović proposed the formation of a new mixed commission and a meeting aimed at harmonizing the Agreement on International Road Transport of Passengers and Goods between BiH and Austria.

Mitrović briefed Ambassador Hartmann on the dynamics of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway project and the construction of the Vc Corridor.

Ambassador Hartmann stated that there is an interest of Austrian companies to participate in the implementation of these projects, along with the joint assessment of the importance of building highways and connecting countries of the region with the EU member states.

They agreed that the two countries have excellent cooperation in the field of air transport and emphasized that progress can also be made in this area with the aim of strengthening economic and business ties between BiH and Austria.
