SARAJEVO, March 3 (FENA) - The Collegium of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) adopted the information at today’s session about the irrevocable resignation of Asim Sarajlič as vice-president of the Party and chairman of the Personnel Commission.
This is one of the conclusions of the session, and it was announced that the party Presidency will immediately initiate the procedure of political accountability of all participants involved in the incident, the release of audio recording regarding the election assembly of the Cantonal Committee of the SDA Sarajevo.
The conclusions were read by the SDA President Bakir Izetbegović and he announced that the SDA Presidency would charge the party's Ethics Committee to propose accountability measures.
“The SDA Election Committee will, as soon as possible, examine the merits of all complaints regarding the regularity of the election process,” Izetbegović said.
Izetbegović also noted, regarding Sarajlić's position as a deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, that “he has the right to hold the position to which the people had elected him.”
He added that “it should not be forgotten that Sarajlić defended Bosnia and Herzegovina and was twice severely wounded.”
He also said that Mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo Semir Efendić would bear political responsibility because, according to Izetbegović, he should have first reported this matter to the competent state bodies and then to the SDA Presidency.
“This should have been stopped at the right time and not to jeopardize the party's reputation and the process. This, among other things, is also unlawful,” said Izetbegović.
