SARAJEVO, February 26 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fahrudin Radončić today received Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to BiH Dimitrios Papandreou to discuss illegal migration, bilateral cooperation and BiH's European integration path.

Papandreou stated that Greece is taking all necessary measures to prevent a new migrant wave towards the European Union, but also towards BiH, and denies information that there are already around 100,000 illegal migrants in his country. He also stressed that the prevention of smuggling and the arrival of new migrants to Greece were top priorities.

Radončić stressed that this was encouraging information and underlined the importance of regional cooperation of countries facing this problem.

He, therefore, welcomed the announcement of a visit to the region by the Greek Interior Minister as part of which he will also visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The two officials discussed counter-terrorism measures and Ambassador Papandreou emphasized that BiH is setting a good example for the countries in the region, but also for Europe in how this problem should be addressed.

He reiterated that BiH has the full support of Greece on its path to European integration and offered technical and legal assistance to accelerate the process, stated the BiH Ministry of Security.
