BRČKO, February 25 (FENA) - Brčko District Supervisor Michael Scanlan and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH Haldun Koç visited Brčko today and talked with local officials about projects that could guarantee economic development of the Brčko District.
“Our wish is that the Brčko District has good projects that can affect prosperity, opportunities and the life of Brčko citizens. We came here with representatives of Zirat Bank who contribute to this idea with their projects,” said Ambassador Koç during his visit to Brčko.
He stressed that political stability is a prerequisite for economic growth, and on the other hand, investment and stable economic growth contribute to political stability in any country.
Turkish Ambassador expressed his satisfaction that Brčko is located on the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway and believes that it will also contribute to faster development of this local community.
Brčko Supervisor Michael Scanlan said when visiting the Port of Brčko that the international community and its partners consider Brčko to be an important location not only because of the Port which can ensure the return of prosperity, but it can also ensure that activities related to export of goods from BiH are carried out more quickly.
Scanlan also expressed confidence that activities related to the reconstruction of the Sava Bridge at the Brčko-Gunja border crossing would be accelerated.
