SARAJEVO, February 25 (FENA) - Sarajevo Penitentiary is an example of how all other penitentiaries in Bosnia and Herzegovina should function, according to FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, who visited this institution today with FBiH Justice Minister Mato Jozić.
“We have seen that everything is at high level, technologically and personally, and we think we can use this method to all other prisons in BiH,” said Novalić, stating that the aim of this visit is learning about the conditions in prisons, primarily security conditions after changes have been made.
He stressed that Sarajevo Penitentiary Institution is no doubt showing great progress and complete human security.
Faruk Zupčević, Director of the Sarajevo Penitentiary Institution, emphasized that the prison was completely reconstructed after the escape of the prisoners and formation of a new administration.
“The level of security is of the highest quality, and visits representatives from other penitentiary institutions from BiH and other countries are indicator of this. A concept of 'prison in a prison' has been formed in this institution, equipped with the best equipment, therefore it is now impossible to bring something illegal into the Sarajevo Penitentiary Institution,” said Zupčević.
He recalled that the Sarajevo Penitentiary Institution would be relocated to Igman.
