SARAJEVO, February 18 (FENA) - An MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Dragan Mektić (SDS) told reporters in Sarajevo today that he would not comment on the conclusions of the Republika Srpska National Assembly from last night, because MPs in the RSNA also have a legal and legitimate right to decide about such things, including the last night’s conclusions.

“Therefore, I am in no way able, and it is needless, to challenge the conclusions of the National Assembly, nor to support the conclusions of the National Assembly. That is their full right. They worked within the Constitution, the law and within their jurisdiction. Just as I, as a Member of Parliament in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, where I was directly elected by the people, I request and I want to have the full right to decide in accordance with my views, opinions and my conscience,” said Mektić.

Asked if he would support his party's views in the future when it comes to the work in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, he replied that he did not really know and that he could not conclude from today's session what were the true conclusions of yesterday's RS National Assembly session.

“If I understood them correctly, that the conclusion of the National Assembly was that representatives in the institutions of BiH do not participate in decision-making. As far as I have seen, today a representative of a political option or coalition who advocated for making such a decision took part in the decision-making process,” said Mektić.

Specifically, a session of the Joint Defense and Security Committee of BiH was held today, where a member of the Committee Sredoje Nović (SNSD) voting against certain proposals.

Mektić says that "Sredoje Nović, who is from the SNSD, has been involved in the decision-making process all day long."

“The thing is, he was against certain proposals, and I voted in favor of them. I do not see the difference between the two of us,” said Mektić.
