Cvijanović: We are interested in peace, stability and maintaining competencies

BANJA LUKA, February 17 (FENA) - Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović said today that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a country where it is possible to realize the interest of every nation, entity and BiH at the same time, is not in dispute.

“We are interested in peace, stability and maintaining the competencies and constitutional capacity of the RS. This is the framework of our policy,” said Cvijanović.

And these circumstances, in which this special session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska was convened, are the circumstances of the political crisis.

“There are disputed abductions of competencies that are happening under the picture of allegedly making a more functional state, and, in fact, it is getting worse and worse because of such interventions,” Cvijanović said in her address to the RS National Assembly on the decisions of the BiH Constitutional Court.

She said that today's special session of the RS National Assembly was convened with the intention for the RS to state its position on this matter, and in light of the latest decision of the BiH Constitutional Court and the fact that "its identity, institutional capacity, as well as the associated level of jurisdiction, which is guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement and all its annexes, and in particular Annex 4, which represents the Constitution of BiH has been continuously being violated over the last two and a half decades"

She stated that there is room to improve the current situation.

“But it is not hard to assume that Bosniak politicians will remain reluctant to take this chance as long as they know they can rely on foreign officials,” whether it is the OHR, which has long been perceived as a "legal department of the SDA" or international judges in the BiH Constitutional Court, which is a voting machine in favor of the SDA's political ambitions and the creation of a unitary BiH, against which two of the three constituent peoples are,” RS President stated.

In the proposed conclusions, the RS Parliament obliges RS representatives in the BiH institutions to propose in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly the adoption of the Law on foreign judges’ employment termination and the election of domestic judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH.

“The RSNA tasks the RS Government to continue earlier negotiations with the FBiH Government with a view to defining the border line between the RS and the Federation of BiH, in accordance with Annex 2 of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in BiH,” it is stated in one of the proposed conclusions.
