BELGRADE, February 16 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik stated on Saturday in Belgrade that the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court regarding the status of agricultural land in the entity of Republika Srpska "is a just another attempt to bring down Republika Srpska".
"After several judgments that the property belongs to the entities, they have now reversed it and transferred it to the level of BiH, thus destroying the RS. For us, this is a red line, Such decisions are supported by Western countries that are part of the effort to stifle the RS and people in the RS know it," Dodik said after the meeting with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić together with political representatives of Serbs from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
Dodik said there are two possible solutions to the current situation: the BiH Constitutional Court without foreign judges, or for the RS to "go its own way and make a decision on its independence in due time," adding that he would use all the institutional capacities at the disposal of the RS National Assembly and the BiH institutions.
"We will not use any measures that would destabilize the situation. We have a lot of institutional capacity to defend our rights and we will do that. Ultimately, the people will decide. We will demand that the people decide on the status of the RS no matter how much they forbid us from doing that," Dodik said.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he understood the situation of the Serb people in BiH and Montenegro, adding that Serbia's support for Serbs in neighboring countries is unquestionable.
"Unlike my predecessors, I neither threaten, nor play games, nor do I ask for anything. My plea, especially in BiH, to Milorad Dodik and Željka Cvijanović is to keep in mind the interests of our entire people and the country. I understand the fear and all the problems they face, the threats to their identity and property," said Vučić.
He added that he asked the RS representatives to do everything "through the institutions in order to avoid widespread destabilization of the entire region."
The meeting in Belgrade was also attended by the patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej and representatives of ethnic Serb political parties in Montenegro.
