ZVORNIK, February 12 (FENA) - Director of the BiH Border Police Zoran Galić and Assistant for Organization and Operations Dragan Kulić spoke on Wednesday in Zvornik with the Unit Commander of the border crossing Zvornik Muamer Fazlagić on measures to be taken in response to pressure coming from illegal migration.
They discussed the state of affairs at the state border, with a focus on the eastern border, and stressed that an additional influx of illegal migrants is expected in the spring, the BiH Border Police said.
It was stated that in 2019, there were 6,006 migrants detained in the Zvornik area, which is 25 percent more than in 2018. There were 311 incidents of illegal crossing of the border in 2019 in the area, which is down 60.73 percent compared to 2018.
Statistics show that it is necessary to step up measures in the area of the eastern border, and for these reasons an experienced team of police officers of the Border Police of BiH has been formed, which works with the aim of strengthening the control of illegal migration.
