SARAJEVO, February 9 (FENA) - Some 120 hikers took part in the memorial climb to the Mount Bjelasnica on Saturday marking the 4th Dragi Novaković Memorial Hike with participants from Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Split, Zagreb, Foča, Imotski, Prijedor and Goražde.

Hikers set off from Štinji Dol on Saturday morning to the highest peak of Mount Bjelašnica, the Observatory, in memory of the mountaineer who lost his life at the Kotlovi locality on Mt Bjelašnica.

Previously, at the Miljevići Cemetery in East Sarajevo, where Dragi Novaković was buried, memorial participants laid flowers and paid tribute to the climber and beloved friend.

Also at the highest peak of Mt Bjelašnica, at the Observatory, memorial participants laid flowers at the site of the Novaković death above the Kotlovi locality where a memorial plaque was erected.

Dragi Novaković, a 27-year-old climber from Sarajevo, was killed on February 7, 2016 while rescuing a mountaineer who was badly injured.
