SARAJEVO, February 2 (FENA) - According to preliminary results, the Sarajevo Canton recorded 667.373 tourist visits in 2019, which is up by 17.03 percent compared to the same period in 2018. The total number of overnight stays in 2019 amounted to 1.308.382, which is 17.65 more than in the previous year.
As Institute for Informatics and Statistics of the Sarajevo Canton told FENA, 89.874 were domestic tourists and 577.499 were foreign tourists.
The largest number of foreign tourists came from the People's Republic of China (63.606), followed by Croatia 59.139, Saudi Arabia 47.530 and Turkey 46.938.
The Sarajevo Canton was also visited by 26.764 tourists from Slovenia, 26.150 from the United Arab Emirates, 25.501 from Serbia, 23.560 from Germany, 23.479 from the USA, 16.670 from Italy and 12.035 from Austria.
