FBiH Economic-Social Council considers amendments to Profit Tax Act

FENA Senka Trgovčević

SARAJEVO, January 30 (FENA) - At today’s session, the Economic and Social Council for the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina discussed the amendments to the Law on Profit Tax to align the terminology with the new international accounting standards that entered into force.

It was emphasized that it is important to adopt the amendments to submit financial statements before February 28, 2020.

“Such a law that treats compliance with accounting standards will ensure that there are no additional costs at the expense of employers,” said FBiH Finance Minister Jelka Milićević.

The FBiH Employers Association President Adnan Smailbegović said it was a very professionally-drafted law.

The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the above-mentioned legislation at its session yesterday, and in order for it to enter into force, it needs to be passed by the House of Peoples as well, so that "the inconsistency of the terminology of expenditures / costs itself would not increase the expenses in the segment of profit tax", and which would affect the overall economy and doing business.
