Austrian Ambassador to BiH Ulrike Hartmann visits Visoko

VISOKO, January 29 (FENA) - Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to BiH Ulrike Hartmann paid a visit to Visoko today, where she met with Mayor Amra Babić.

Hartmann was informed on the work of the City Administration, a way of providing services to citizens, and presented everything that makes Visoko highly tourist-specific and investment-friendly, it was stated from the City of Visoko.

As part of the visit, Hartmann also toured downtown Austro-Hungarian buildings and Srebrenica Genocide Victims Square where she laid flowers.    

The tour of the Mili archeological site, the coronation and burial site of the Bosnian kings, the production facility of the Austrian company JuA Frischeis, the site of Ravne, the Old Town and the elementary school "Kulin Ban" where students and teachers prepared a solemn program in German.

“I have passed through Visoko many times, but I have never been in the city, but I received so much information about the development of the city and I am really enchanted. I am especially pleased that we have a woman mayor. The desire for cooperation with other cities and municipalities of Bosnia and Herzegovina is evident. I think that is a very important signal for the European Union. I am very glad that the whole approach of this country and its people towards Austria is very positive,” said Ambassador Ulrike Hartmann and emphasized the desire for cooperation in concrete projects.

“It is not only about money and how much we invest somewhere, but also about the signals already mentioned, which is a kind of cooperation. We will see how we can cooperate in the future as well,” Hartmann added.

Mayor Babić stressed that we would like to set an example to other municipalities and cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina how local self-government should function, how the executive and legislative authorities should cooperate, and how basic life problems of citizens should be addressed.
