BANJA LUKA, January 29 (FENA) – Acting Director of the RS Public Health Institute Branislav Zeljković said today that there are no coronavirus patients in the BiH entity and that the epidemiological situation is satisfactory.
"We have no suspected cases of coronavirus at the moment," Zeljković said at the press conference in Banja Luka.
He added that they are monitoring the epidemiological situation and that all necessary measures are being taken in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
“We also have very good cooperation with colleagues in the Federation of BiH and at the level of BiH, that is, with the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs,” said Zeljković, and reiterated that there is no need for panic, because there is no reason to believe that there are sick persons in the RS.
Nina Rodić-Vukmir, Head of the Institute of Epidemiology said that two people from RS who had traveled to China contacted them on their own initiative.
"They have been examined and the incubation period will be followed, and they are feeling well," she said.
She stated that the incubation period was reduced from 14 to ten days.
Chairperson of the Commission for Infectious Diseases Janja Bojanić confirmed that four coronaviruses, which attack both the upper and lower respiratory tract, are being tested in RS hospital in Banja Luka.
"Diagnostics for the new coronavirus are only done by a few reference laboratories that have been designated by the World Health Organization and we will contact one of them," Bojanić said.
