SARAJEVO, January 29 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić received in a working visit Matthew Field, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The two officials discussed several l topics, including the strengthening of democratic standards within the electoral legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chairman Komšić reiterated his position that the amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be made in such a way as to apply democratic standards, that is, eliminate any form of discrimination within the electoral legislation.
In this respect, it was emphasized that the formation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina should not be conditioned by amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Field expressed support for the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland for projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the UK will support at different levels of government, with the aim of improving the functioning of different areas of life. The United Kingdom intends to support a new reform agenda for Bosnia and Herzegovina, to be adopted by a new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers, the BiH Presidency said.
