SREBRENICA, January 29 (FENA) - Parents of Bosniak children in Srebrenica protested this morning over discrimination against their children attending the First Elementary School in Srebrenica.
The First Elementary School on Monday celebrated the St. Sava patron day and photos of pupils celebrating the Chetniks in the school premises were published on social networks.
In addition to the protest of warning, parents will today submit certain requests to the school board, one of which is to establish a parent council that plays a role in the school's work.
Deputy Mayor of Srebrenica Hamdija Fejzić condemned this behavior of the pupil s and urged the school principal to apologize publicly to the parents and their children.
Vice President of the BiH entity of Republika Srpska Ramiz Salkić said in a statement that a scandalous photo of Serb students at the First Elementary School in Srebrenica, celebrating Chetniks after the celebration of the Saint Sava patron day, reflects the conditions and the climate in this town, as well as in other communities in RS, in which Bosniak children must live and attend classes.
The parents have previously said that they do not want their children to be absent from school, but if the elementary school administration does not respond then they will define the next steps in fighting for their rights.
