SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action of BiH (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović today after the session of the Presidency of that party has called for the conclusion of the appointment of the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees as this would complete the process of establishment of the new Council of Ministers.

“We had an agreement defining that a non-partisan candidate from RS, from the rank of other nations, who would be nominated by partners from Republika Srpska, and would be appointed to the position in consultation with all the members. This part has not been done,” said Izetbegović, adding that there were no consultations with the SDA, and that the agreement should be respected.

Also, the SDA Presidency called for the urgent completion of the process of government formation at the level of the Federation of BiH. Izetbegović said that he would not support the SNSD’s participation in the executive power in the FBiH.

“As long as the Vice President of the Federation of BiH has significant powers, the position of the Vice President of the Republika Srpska is just a symbolic one, and as long as there are no SDA ministers in the RS Government, such a proposal will have no credibility,” the SDA President emphasized.

He urged the HDZ BiH to nominate the FBiH President without delay, which is a basic requirement for the formation of a new government of the Federation of BiH.

“The election law is the responsibility of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, and its reform should not be tied to the formation of the FBiH Government,” says Izetbegović, who supports the change in the structure of the FBiH Government, i.e., the formation of new and merging of some of the existing ministries.

According to him, the names of the SDA ministers in the new convocation of the Sarajevo Canton Government will be known next week, and the quality of the candidates offered for ministerial positions will be taken into account.

“The SDA has called on the members of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council to resign because they have completely lost their credibility in domestic and international professional circles, as well as with BiH citizens.

The HJPC reports did not receive the support of either MPs or deputies in both houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, which in itself speaks volumes,” Izetbegović said after the session of the SDA Presidency on Friday.
