SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - Nikola Grabovac, a BiH economic expert, former FBiH minister of finance and trade and professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, died in Sarajevo on Thursday night after a serious illness.
Nikola Grabovac was born in 1943 in Bugojno, where he graduated from the secondary school of economics.
He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb in 1965 and received his master's degree from the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo in 1976, where he also received his doctorate in 1988.
He has taught at the Faculty of Economics, the University of Sarajevo as a fulltime professor in undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
He has also held the position of Rector at the Open University APEIRON in Travnik and Rector of Vitez Travnik University, and has been a visiting professor at several universities in Croatia, Serbia and BiH.
He served as Minister of Trade in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1995-1997), Minister of Finance, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a member of the Council of Ministers of BiH (2001-2002).
A memorial service for Nikola Grabovac will be held on Saturday, January 25, at the Bare Cemetery Commemoration Center at 12.15 pm, after which he will be buried at the cemetery.
