Dodik: We do not interfere with internal political turmoil in the SP

BANJA LUKA, January 24 (FENA) - President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, said “the Socialist Party remains a coalition partner of the SNSD, which does not interfere with other party's internal turmoil, the same case as it was with the DNS.”

He said he did not like what was happening in the Socialist Party (SP), where a group of MPs demanded the expulsion of president Petar Đokić, after which he expelled them from the party.

Dodik said at a news conference after an extended session of the SNSD Executive Board that he has met and talked with Mićo Mićić (SDS) two days ago about a potential coalition agreement for the upcoming local elections and said he would not meet with SDS leader Mirko Šarović, who previously said that only he is competent to represent the SDS in such negotiations.

“There are a number of proposals, for Mićić to be a joint candidate, as well as for him not to be. But we shall see. These are the talks that I will finalize with Mićić, and certainly not with Šarović,” he said.

He claims that “the Bosniaks are conditioning condition the appointment of Mlađen Božović as Minister of Human Rights and Refugees with reinstating Senad Bratić to the position of the Deputy Speaker of the RS NA,” but these are two completely different levels of government.

Dodik says that “if Bosniaks want to talk about Bratić's reinstatement, that is a legitimate request, as is the SNSD getting a vice-president of the Federation of BiH.”

"That way, Bratić can come back, but this cannot be tied to the appointments in the BiH Council of Ministers, which is a done deal,” he said.

Dodik also added he was against increasing the salaries for employees of the institutions at the state level.
