Novalić - Strömquist: European integration is a priority for BiH

SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić, today received in an inaugural visit, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Johanna Strömquist.

The two officials discussed the current and future cooperation between the two countries, which have excellent relations.

Prime Minister Novalić thanked the Ambassador for Sweden's great involvement in projects in BiH, and expressed hope that this would continue in the future.

The Swedish Ambassador said the development cooperation project would continue; that they were interested in continuing public administration reform and working together to raise public awareness of the problem of air pollution.

She noted that Sweden is the third-largest bilateral donor to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Sweden fully supports European integration of BiH and an important period is ahead of us in this regard. Our goal is to support reforms to make BiH an EU member,” said Ambassador Strömquist.

Novalić said that European integration is a priority and informed the ambassador about the new program of socio-economic reforms, ecology being one of its segments.

They also discussed the planned reforms of the FBiH Government sector, the problem of wastewater management in Mostar and public administration reform, stated the FBiH Government press service.
