SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Staša Košarac, expressed his commitment to cooperation with the entity ministries, announcing meetings with ministers from the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
During his meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republika Srpska, Boris Pašalić, he said that he would confirm an open dialogue and a model of high degree of alignment of views of institutions of the Republika Srpska, the Federation of BiH and the Brčko District.
He suggested working together to align strategic normative and legislative acts before these documents are submitted to the BiH Council of Ministers and the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to ensure that these acts are adopted more quickly.
The entity ministry delegation briefed Minister Košarac on issues that need to be addressed when it comes to legislation, with a focus on legal solutions regulating veterinary, agriculture, food and wine.
They also emphasized the need for harmonization of legal regulations in the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, after which it would be possible to compose them at the state level, while respecting entity competencies.
The participants of the meeting stated that with respect to the defined policies, it is necessary to regulate certain areas in the field of EU directives in order to use the resources potentially available to BiH.
The activities related to the withdrawal of IPARD funds were also discussed, and it was stated that the existing deadlock should be eliminated as soon as possible so that domestic agricultural producers could use this important resource, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH stated.
