SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) – Deputy Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda held separate meetings today with Malaysian Ambassador to BiH Zakri Jaafar and Saudi Arabia Ambassador Hani bin Abdullah Mominah, and discussed creating better business conditions for cooperation and investments.
Minister Bevanda and Ambassador Jaafar agreed that relations between BiH and Malaysia are friendly and can be enhanced through business cooperation in many areas.
It was pointed out that Malaysia has been loyal partner in business forums in BiH which resulted in signing of several memorandums, and one related to investments in the poultry sector is worth EUR 20 million.
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia emphasized that numerous projects are underway and that all barriers to the projects of reconstruction and equipping hospitals in Mostar and Konjic have been removed.
Bevanda stressed during his meeting with Ambassador Mominah that he is grateful to Saudi Arabia Government for allocating funds for education and health, and that in the coming period he will try to remove barriers for all approved projects to be implemented.
The meetings highlighted that BiH has signed the Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation with Malaysia, while the agreement with Saudi Arabia has been finalized and a contract will be signed as soon as the terms are agreed, facilitating investors' business activities.
The ambassadors congratulated Minister Bevanda on his re-appointment as BiH Minister of Finance and Treasury, and expressed hope that good cooperation would continue in the future, the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury stated.
