SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) - Defense Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić met on Wednesday with French Ambassador Guillaume Rousson to discuss continued cooperation in the field of defense.
Podžić welcomed Ambassador Rousson and thanked for France's contribution to peace-building in BiH.
He referred to the successful cooperation between the two countries through the implementation of activities under the Bilateral-Military Cooperation Plan, the BiH Ministry of Defense stated.
Podžić particularly singled out French language training for members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, training of demining units, training of AF BiH members in France, as well as the presence of AF BiH members of the Catholic faith on a military-police pilgrimage in Lourdes.
Minister Podžić stressed the importance of continued defense cooperation and expressed his commitment to finding the right methods for BiH to remain a safe country.
Ambassador Rousson thanked Minister Podžić and emphasized the importance of continued defense cooperation between the French Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Our defense cooperation has ripened enough for us to embark on a new phase of relations,” said Ambassador Rousson.
