BANJA LUKA, January 13 (FENA) - The Bosniak people in the Republika Srpska (RS) National Assembly for several months now have been without its representatives in the entity parliamentary collegium, even though as a constituent people, they have the constitutional right to it.

On September 18, 2019, lawmakers in the RS National Assembly adopted the decision to dismiss Senad Bratić (SDA) from the position of the Deputy Speaker of the entity parliament from the ranks of the Bosniak people, although earlier that day he had resigned irrevocably.

SNSD leader Milorad Dodik has announced today that an MP from the SNSD would take the position.

“When the conditions are created, an MP from the SNSD will be elected as the deputy speaker of the RS parliament,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka today.

In addition to being left without representatives in the parliamentary leadership of the entity, to which Bosniaks are entitled under the Rules of Procedure, they also lost the caucus status after Miro Perkunić stepped down and joined the SNSD caucus.
