MOSTAR, January 5 (FENA) - President of HDZ BiH and Croat National Assembly Speaker Dragan Čović voted in Mostar this morning in Croatia's presidential elections.
“We wish the continuity of policy of Croatia’s President when it comes to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, and especially when it comes to the Croat people in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Čović told reporters.
Asked if the HDZ had organized buses for voters from distant towns, Čović replied that the HDZ would arrange everything that any Croat wishing to vote could come to Mostar, Vitez, Livno, Tuzla, Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
Asked how he comments on Zoran Milanović's statement that he was in Mostar when it was the most difficult, and what would be the cooperation with him if he were elected Croatian president, Čović reiterated that he is sure in the continuity of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović's policy.
As for Milanović, he said that he had made a significant but formal contribution in his presidency of the Croatian government "at a time that was very important to us and we appreciate it".
The Croatian president will be elected today, in the second round, because in the first, on December 22, none of the 11 candidates received a majority of votes. Two candidates with the most votes, Milanović and Grabar-Kitarović entered the second round and one of them will be elected president.
